The IDS project - Intelligent Data Sets
Project organisation and management
The project consists of
Aker Kværner,
AVEVA,
ALCIM,
Bechtel,
Bentley Systems,
DNV,
Intergraph,
iXIT,
Noumenon,
Oljeindustriens Landsforening (OLF),
| POSC Caesar Association (PCA)
Statoil
and
| the University of Stavanger.
A project steering group (SG) will consist of one person from each company. The SG will be chaired by Statoil.
OLF will be an observer in the SG. The SG will meet as often as needed but at least every 6 months.
DNV will manage the project. The project manager will inform
NFR,
and the steering group of progress every 6 months or as required by NFR and the SG.
The SG will review the project with the project manager and key members of the project team during a formal
presentation of the project progress.
The Norwegian Defence
(Forsvarets logistikkorganisasjon - FLO)
would also like to have a test facility for other software interfaces. The work to be done for FLO is part of a separate budget but can be coordinated with this project.
Therefore, FLO may be invited to attend project meetings especially those related to the test facility and ISO standardization.
International Cooperation
The project team is international with participants from Norway (Statoil, Aker Kværner, OLF, POSC Caesar, DNV and the University of Stavanger), Germany (iXIT), Malaysia (ALCIM)
the USA (Bechtel, Bentley Systems and Intergraph) and the UK (Aveva and Noumenon).
OLF is an interest organisation for oil companies and suppliers. OLF has many of the largest international oil companies and
oil field suppliers as members. POSC Caesar Association (PCA) is an international association with 15 members from the
Oil and Gas industry in Norway, UK and USA. PCA will assist in bringing in technology from its members.
PCA includes Statoil and BP. OLF and PCA will assist in internationalising the project results.
The project will collaborate with
the ADI project
(Accelerating the Deployment of ISO 15926) and
the AEX project
(Automating Equipment Information Exchange) which are both run by
FIATECH
in order to develop datasheet templates that have semantics consistent with
the ISO 15926 standard. FIATECH a member-based research consortium that consists of the following sampling of members:
research institutions (
National Institute of Standards and Technology NIST),
National Research Council Canada NRC-CNRC),
operators (
ConocoPhillips,
Aramco Services Company,
DuPont,
Dow Chemical),
contractors (
Bechtel,
Fluor,
KBR),
and software vendors (
Intergraph,
AVEVA,
Oracle,
Autodesk,
Bentley Systems).
FIATECH’s vision is a future state where capital projects are executed in a highly automated and seamlessly integrated environment across all phases and processes of the capital project life cycle.
FIATECH is also interested in the development and use of a test facility to facilitate international standardization of
reference data and product models. In addition, the
ISO
secretariat (which is responsible for ISO 15926) and the American National Standards Institute (
ANSI
) have expressed interest and support for such a test facility.
