The IDS project - Intelligent Data Sets

Progress plan - milestones

This is planned as a three year project, starting 1-January 2006. Five major phases are:

Phase 1, Methodology
• Prioritization of a list of ISO, API, and NORSOK data sheets to be used.
• Document and test the methodology for a few different types of products/data sheets.
• Investigate what can be used from FIATECH / AEX and build on this, if possible
• Develop the methodology for extracting implicit information from documents
• Develop product model representations for a limited set of NORSOK products/data
   sheets for demonstration/testing purposes.
• Prototype demonstration of data exchange between applications
• Development of sample templates for information exchange between applications
• Development of sample legacy system (SAP) interfaces to templates
• Investigate relational dynamics between distinctive work processes within and between
   organizations in an integrated environment.
• Develop the requirements for test facility

Phase 2, Develop product models for Intelligent Data Sheets in ISO 15926-4.
• Further development of product models based on prioritized data sheets.
• Further development of templates, including updates of those developed in Phase 1.
• Feedback to FIATECH / AEX project.
• Establish test facility
• Beta testing of templates using the test facility
• Map relational dynamics between distinctive work processes within and between
   organizations in an integrated environment.

Phase 3, Testing and Information Quality
• Develop software interfaces
• Test facility to test data integration, data exchange, completeness of product model that
have been developed and software interfaces to end user systems
• Add additional set of prioritized data sheets and their mappings to ISO 15926.
• Develop process-to-process (P2P) and business-to-business (B2B) workflow
configuration model based on data exchange protocols, decision loops, and
   shared activity level.

Phase 4, New Business Processes
• Define criteria for active work process integration to migrate into new work processes.
• Develop a template for work process-to-work process (W2W) interface design within and
   between organizations.
• Add additional set of prioritized data sheets and their mappings to ISO 15926.
• Fine tune and update templates, product model and software interfaces

Phase 5, Demonstration and internationalization
• Demonstration of data exchange using product models and the test facility
• Work to internationalize product model reference data at ISO.
• Establish a methodology for optimisation of integrated work processes

The project plan of the five main activities are as follows:
